After a full recovery from the pandemic, global royalties for creators reached a record high of EUR12.1 billion in 2022, marking a remarkable 26.7% increase. The resurgence of live events and public performances, coupled with a sustained rise in digital revenue, has led to a current 19.8% growth in collections compared to pre-pandemic levels.
The continuous advancements in streaming and subscription services propelled digital collections to EUR 4.2 billion. With digital income now constituting 35% of total receipts, it has surpassed TV and radio, emerging as the primary revenue source for producers. Notably, it has doubled since the pre-COVID levels in 2019.
