Matching Engine hosts ISWC developer bootcamp for CISAC society members

As part of the rollout of the Next Generation ISWC System, the Matching Engine team, from Spanish Point Technologies, partnered with CISAC to host a developer bootcamp for society members preparing for the June 2020 central allocation of International Standard Musical Works Codes (ISWC).

In February 2020, representatives from CISAC member societies, including RAO, LatinAutor, SADAIC, BUMA/STEMRA, ZAiKS, Artisjus and SABAM, attended the two-day bootcamp.

Matching Engine, developed and delivered by Spanish Point Technologies, powers the Next Generation ISWC System. The sessions provided practical guidance on the ISWC platform and its REST-based API, helping participants prepare for the transition to a centralised allocation model.

The bootcamp focused on providing an overview of the ISWC database and the use of the new API. Attendees explored how to submit ISWCs, retrieve information, and manage metadata through merge and deletion processes. The move to centralised allocation was designed to improve the speed, efficiency and consistency of ISWC assignment across the global network of societies.

Built on Microsoft Azure, Matching Engine harnesses cloud technology to deliver accurate matching at scale. The accurate matching of growing volumes of digital music data and streaming royalties is a key priority for collection societies worldwide. As digital music consumption continues to grow, collective management organisations face increasing volumes of rights and works data that must be accurately processed and managed.
