DUBLIN, 4 November, 2026: Matching Engine, the music rights technology platform developed by Spanish Point Technologies, is entering its next phase of international growth following the appointment of former Kobalt Music Group executive Simon Dennett as Chief Product Officer, with responsibility for leading the platform’s expansion.
The appointments come as Spanish Point continues its international expansion, having doubled its team since 2023 to more than 120 people. CEO and Co-Founder John Corley has also been recognised as a finalist in the Established category of the 2026 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, highlighting the company’s growth and development over the past two decades.
Matching Engine is a cloud-native enterprise software solution designed to help Collective Management Organisations modernise copyright management, from repertoire and usage matching through to distribution processing and member management. Its scalable, modular architecture and suite of AI capabilities are designed to manage the growing volume and complexity of music rights data, improving efficiency, accuracy and transparency across the rights management process. Built on Microsoft Azure, the platform supports CMOs operating across 13 countries in Europe and North America.
John Corley, CEO and Co-Founder of Spanish Point Technologies, said: "Simon spent 14 years at Kobalt working in product, technology and commercial strategy across the group. Having been a core part of scaling Kobalt and its global collection society AMRA, he understands the rights problem from all sides: writer, publisher and collection society. As Matching Engine grows internationally, that experience will be instrumental in helping CMOs meet the challenges ahead.”
At Kobalt, Dennett served as Chief Product Officer and Chief Commercial Officer, working across the business during its defining growth years. He shaped pioneering platforms for songwriters and publishers, helped drive market entry and commercial positioning for Kobalt’s global digital collection society, AMRA (American Music Rights Association), and created products that underpinned the growth of the group’s recording arm, AWAL (Artists Without a Label). He later served on AMRA’s board and has since built, advised and invested in businesses focused on rights, intellectual property and technology.
Simon Dennett, Chief Product Officer at Spanish Point Technologies, said: “Rights management is becoming more data-intensive and technically demanding, with AI significantly amplifying that trend. The industry needs platforms that can manage this step change without compromising accuracy, transparency or speed. Matching Engine has built a strong foundation with leading CMOs, and the opportunity now is global. My focus will be on strengthening the platform to stay ahead of the challenges to come as we expand into new markets.”
Spanish Point Technologies, the software engineering company behind Matching Engine, has also appointed leading technology entrepreneur and investor Brian Caulfield as Chairperson. A Venture Partner and former Managing Partner at Molten Ventures, Caulfield has backed companies including Movidius, Graphcore and Clavis Insight and will support the wider business as it continues to scale internationally.
The appointments come as Spanish Point continues its international expansion, with CEO and Co-Founder John Corley also recognised as a finalist in the Established category of the 2026 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, highlighting the company's growth and development over the past two decades.
